I fell in love at first sight with these marvelous Turquoises. They look a little bit like parts of our planet earth seen from above. They were digged in the area of Nishapur, Iran, a city located along the "western" part of the ancient Silk Road. In the year 1000 Nishapur was no. 8 of the biggest towns of the world and in the 11th Century Nishapur and Bagdad had the greatest University Libraries. Today, the Nishapur Mines are famous because of the beauty and excellence of their Turquoises. The Turquoise lies - like a persian carpet - on brown rocks: To symbolize this, I designed an open setting for the earring's back. These earrings are dedicated to our beautiful planet and the great history of Nishapur.
Turquoise and all treasures of the sea, such as Coral, Mother of Pearl, all kind of Pearls, Amber, Conch and Corniola, have to be protected from cosmetic, hairspray, soap, perfume, acid and extreme sun exposures. It can be cleaned under running lukewarm water with a very soft towel (please don't use microfiber). To avoid scratches please store jewels always separated from each other in the attached pouch.
